Malkar Thornvault
Fighter
Malkar Thornvault
Species
Half-Orc
Appearance
Malkar is a broad-shouldered half-orc with the tense, coiled posture of a man who has spent years standing still and watching other people break. His skin is the gray-green of wet stone after rain, marked by pale scar lines that catch the light like old chalk. One tusk has been filed smooth and capped in brass, while the other is chipped from an old fight he refuses to discuss. He wears a prison guard's dark leather coat over chain reinforcement, but the coat is neatly patched with colorful thread in tiny, almost hidden geometric patterns that make him look unexpectedly artistic for a jailer. He moves with deliberate, economical steps, yet when he is nervous his left hand drifts to the iron keys at his belt as if they were prayer beads.
“Low, precise, and slightly gravelly, with the cadence of someone trained to issue commands through stone corridors. He rarely raises his voice; when he does, it is sharper than shouting.”

Distinguishing Features
Brass-capped left tusk
A ring of tiny key-shaped scars around his right wrist from an old shackle
Hidden embroidery in his guard coat that looks like scratches until seen up close
A thin white scar across his throat that he covers with his scarf
Voice
“A gravel-deep baritone with surprising softness at the ends of sentences, as though every order is also an apology he would rather not make.”
Clothing
Dark prison-guard coat, iron-buckled belt, scuffed boots, chain shirt beneath the coat, and a plain wool scarf that is too fine for his station and clearly a keepsake
Body Language
His shoulders stay squared and his hands remain visible, but his fingers never stop measuring distance, lock width, or the weight of nearby weapons. When irritated, he rocks once on his heels instead of pacing.
