Seshra Dovesh
Bard
Seshra Dovesh
Species
Dusk Elf
Appearance
Seshra is a lean, sharp-faced dusk elf with long limbs and the careful balance of someone accustomed to walking rooftops. Her movements are quiet but never graceful in the expected way. She turns corners too tightly, pauses at odd angles, and sometimes stands perfectly still while one finger continues tapping an unheard rhythm. Her skin has the muted brown-gray tone of wet river clay, with a faint silver sheen around the knuckles. Her hair is black, coarse, and braided with scraps of red thread, copper wire, and tiny folded paper charms. She smiles readily when speaking to strangers, yet her eyes remain watchful and tired. The contradictory impression she leaves is that of a harmless street musician who somehow makes every room feel as if it has acquired a locked door.
“Her voice is soft, breathy, and slightly husky, with careful sibilants that make ordinary remarks sound like fragments of song. She speaks quickly when improvising and painfully slowly when telling the truth.”

Distinguishing Features
A pale crescent scar beneath her left ear, shaped like a comma.
A missing tip on her right index finger, lost while cutting a message from a locked archive.
A bone-string cittern whose strings produce a faint second note no one else can locate.
A red thread tied around her wrist that she replaces every morning.
Her shadow sometimes moves half a heartbeat after she does.
Voice
“A low, breathy contralto with a dry rasp at the edges, capable of becoming a bright market call or a nearly inaudible whisper without losing its musical rhythm.”
Clothing
A faded plum coat patched with mismatched wool, a sleeveless gray tunic, wrapped trousers, soft-soled boots, and a broad sash containing chalk, coins, thread, and folded messages. Her coat lining is sewn with dozens of tiny musical notations.
Body Language
Seshra keeps her shoulders loose and her hands occupied. She drums her thumb against her palm, tilts her head toward distant sounds, and leans closer when someone lies. When angry, she stops moving entirely except for the slow tightening of her jaw.
