Sythren Halewick
Species
Human
Appearance
Sythren is a tall, broad-shouldered man who stands perfectly still when waiting, placing almost all his weight on the balls of his feet as if the floor might vanish beneath him. His skin is weathered rather than pale, brown at the forearms and knuckles from years of saddle work, winter marches, and polishing armor in bitter rain. His face is long and composed, with a narrow mouth, deep-set eyes, and a small silver tooth visible when he speaks. His movements are economical and quiet, but his armored silhouette seems to arrive a moment before the rest of him. The unexpected contradiction is his hands: large, scarred, and built for killing, yet extraordinarily gentle when handling flowers, lace, or injured birds.
“Low, measured, and almost whisper-soft, with clipped military phrasing. His voice becomes warmer when speaking to animals or common laborers, and nearly emotionless when addressing nobles.”

Distinguishing Features
A faint silver tooth that catches the light when he smiles
Armor polished so darkly that it reflects faces as distorted smudges
Long pale knuckles stained with permanent black polish from caring for his armor
A subtle scent of wet iron, crushed rosemary, and cold stone
A habit of standing too close to doorways, never fully inside a room until invited
Voice
“A restrained baritone with a dry rasp beneath it, like a whetstone drawn slowly across steel”
Clothing
Fine black steel plate over a charcoal gambeson, each plate etched with tiny geometric lines resembling branching veins. A deep wine-red sash marks his command rank, and a narrow silver chain around his neck bears Dunaric's signet. Out of armor he wears severe wool coats, high collars, and immaculate gloves, all chosen to conceal the faint darkening of his veins.
Body Language
Sythren keeps his shoulders square and his chin slightly lowered, as though receiving an execution order. When angered, he does not tense. Instead, he becomes more graceful, resting one gauntleted hand on the pommel of his sword and shifting his weight forward by a single inch.
