Outsider
Appearance
Zotheia appears as a tall, dark-skinned woman whose body seems assembled from warm flesh, pale moonstone, and thin bands of moving shadow. Her skin has the soft sheen of polished basalt after rain, but faint gold cracks cross her shoulders and ribs as if something inside her has been broken and carefully mended. Her long hair hangs in heavy coils that drift upward in still air, each strand ending in a tiny seed-shaped glimmer. She moves with extraordinary patience, taking one measured step where another person would take three, yet when angered she crosses a room between heartbeats without disturbing dust or candle flame. Her face is compassionate and almost maternal, contradicted by a narrow iron ring fused around one finger and the unsettling fact that her reflection always looks away from her.
“Her speech is slow, warm, and precise, with long open vowels and a gentle cadence that makes even warnings sound like invitations. She uses plain words for sacred matters and ceremonial language for ordinary kindnesses.”

Distinguishing Features
Gold fissures run across her skin and glow faintly whenever someone nearby makes a life-changing decision.
Her reflection never faces her.
An iron ring is fused around the smallest finger of her left hand.
Her shadow sometimes contains the silhouettes of people she has helped die peacefully.
She smells faintly of rain on dry soil and extinguished incense.
Voice
“A low, resonant contralto with a soft grain like dry reeds rubbing together. Her voice seems closer when she whispers and farther away when she shouts.”
Clothing
She wears layered indigo and clay-red robes stitched with hundreds of tiny door motifs. A mantle of translucent black fabric rests over one shoulder and ripples like water under moonlight. Her sandals are made from woven silver grass, and beneath the robes she wears a plain linen tunic stained at the cuffs with red earth. She carries no crown, preferring a simple cord around her brow.
Body Language
Zotheia keeps her hands open and visible, palms upward, as though constantly offering someone a choice. When troubled, she presses her iron-ringed finger against her sternum. When lying by omission, she becomes perfectly still except for the slow turning of her head toward the nearest doorway.
