Shura Silthwick
Cleric, Life Domain
Shura Silthwick
Species
Orc
Appearance
Shura is a broad-shouldered orc woman with the sturdy, grounded presence of someone who has carried sleeping children through bad weather. Her movements are unexpectedly quiet, each step placed with the care of a nurse crossing a room at night. She keeps her infant daughter, Pib, nestled against her chest in a sling of blue wool while nursing her when the child becomes hungry, treating the act with calm practicality and fierce tenderness. Her lower tusks are capped in polished brass, not for vanity but because the caps were a gift from her husband. She smells faintly of juniper smoke, warm milk, and ironwort tea. Her face is stern at rest, yet her hands are almost always doing something gentle: smoothing a blanket, testing a cup's temperature, or straightening someone's collar. The contradictory impression is immediate: she looks like a battlefield champion but handles every breakable object as though it were a bird's egg.
“Her voice is a low contralto with a dry, breathy edge. Before answering, she draws one quiet breath through her nose, as though smelling whether a question is honest.”

Distinguishing Features
Polished brass caps cover her lower tusks, each engraved with a tiny goblin proverb.
Her gaze continually maps the room's vulnerable points instead of settling on whoever is speaking.
A blue wool nursing sling crosses her armor, and its stitching contains beads from four different cultures.
She has a habit of testing a cup, blade, or door latch with the back of one knuckle before trusting it.
Her hands are unusually gentle for their size, with short nails kept clean and stained by green herbal poultices.
Voice
“Low, warm, and slightly rasping, with a measured breath before difficult answers. Her laugh is brief and startled, as if it escaped before she could approve it.”
Clothing
A sleeveless charcoal tunic beneath a layered leather brigandine, softened at the edges with blue wool. She wears a long split overskirt for riding, soft-soled boots, and a nursing wrap sewn with tiny green beads. Her belt carries tea, bandages, chalk, and a wooden rattle alongside weapons.
Body Language
Shura keeps her torso angled protectively toward Pib, even while speaking to someone else. Her eyes travel to hands, doorways, and children rather than faces. When displeased, she slowly folds and refolds the corner of Pib's blanket. When amused, one brass tusk cap catches the light as she presses her lips together to suppress a laugh.
