Appearance
Mik is a broad-shouldered human man with weather-darkened skin, thick wrists, and the compact posture of someone accustomed to carrying wet stone. His hands are permanently dusted with pearly fungal powder, and his beard grows in uneven russet clumps that smell faintly of rain. He moves with surprising delicacy, placing each foot as if the floor might bruise. His clothing suggests a grave tender, but his expression is almost boyishly open. The contradiction is unsettling: he looks like a stern, mud-caked laborer until he smiles, at which point he seems painfully gentle.
“Low, careful, and unhurried. Mik speaks as though every sentence must be placed somewhere stable.”

Distinguishing Features
A pale shelf mushroom grows from the seam of his left shoulder mantle and changes shape with the weather.
His fingernails are permanently pearlescent from years of handling spore cultures.
He smells of wet limestone, bitter tea, and fresh-turned earth.
When he is frightened, tiny pinprick mushrooms appear along the hem of his coat.
He smiles at graves and looks solemnly at weddings.
Voice
“A deep baritone softened by rural warmth, with a faint rasp like a shovel dragged over stone.”
Clothing
A patched brown wool coat, green linen shirt, heavy trousers, and mud-stained boots. Over his shoulders hangs a short mantle woven from waxed cord and threaded with living shelf mushrooms. His belt carries pruning shears, a censer, and several stoppered clay jars.
Body Language
Mik keeps his elbows tucked close and gives people more personal space than they expect from such a large man. When worried, he presses two fingers to the nearest stone wall. When angry, he becomes unnaturally still and brushes imaginary soil from his sleeves.
