Szelesh Bator
Aberrant Warlock, custom Fleshbound Patron
Szelesh Bator
Species
Sentient Skin Monster
Appearance
Szelesh resembles a slender traveler assembled from several kinds of human skin, all of it stretched over a graceful but subtly incorrect frame. Its surface has the matte texture of waxed parchment, interrupted by fine seams that shift when it breathes. The face is handsome in an ordinary, forgettable way, yet the features never quite agree: the smile arrives a heartbeat before the eyes, and the cheeks move as though guided by invisible fingers. Its movements are economical and fluid, like a dancer performing underwater, but moments of stillness reveal a disturbing contradiction: it sits with perfect aristocratic poise while its fingers quietly knead and fold the flesh of its own wrist. It leaves observers with the impression that they have met someone polite, exhausted, and almost familiar.
“Soft, breathy, and sibilant, with carefully pronounced words. Szelesh's voice sounds like several speakers agreeing from a great distance, and its vowels carry a faint Hungarian and Turkic cadence.”

Distinguishing Features
Its gloves never wrinkle, stain, or collect dust, even after a long day.
The skin around its wrists subtly ripples when it is excited or afraid.
Its shadow occasionally shows a second pair of shoulders for a fraction of a second.
It wears a small glass festival charm containing a single red thread, which it handles with unusual tenderness.
Its scent changes with its disguise, but a faint smell of rain-soaked linen and iron remains constant.
Voice
“A low, intimate murmur with a dry whisper beneath it. When angry, the voice briefly separates into overlapping tones, as though a crowd is speaking through one throat.”
Clothing
A well-tailored teal traveling coat bought in the lower district, repaired with pale thread that is almost invisible except under lantern light. It wears a high linen collar, soft black trousers, polished ankle boots, and a wine-red sash containing hidden bone needles. The coat is slightly too large at the shoulders, while its gloves are obsessively clean and expensive, the only item it refuses to replace.
Body Language
Szelesh stands too still when listening, then moves all at once. It tilts its head toward sounds other people ignore, often places one palm over its own sternum when lying, and habitually smooths the backs of strangers' collars as though correcting badly fitted skin.
