Appearance
Sashu is a narrow, weathered man whose body seems to have been folded and refolded by mountain roads. He waits with his weight on the balls of his feet, one heel lifted, as though listening for a signal beneath the floor. His movements are quick but economical, with a slight favoring of his left side that vanishes whenever danger appears. His hands are brown and heavily knuckled, yet he handles coins, locks, and blades with the delicate care of a musician. His most startling feature is his immaculate composure: even after a sprint or a fight, his long white braid remains neatly tied while his breath comes out in soft, furious whistles. He leaves the impression of a kindly grandfather who might, at any moment, reorganize an entire city.
“Soft, breathy, and deliberate, with sibilant consonants that turn his words into something almost whispered. He speaks in short clauses during danger and long, winding stories when trying to make someone question their assumptions.”

Distinguishing Features
A long white braid wrapped in copper thread and tied with a blue bead that clicks softly against his collarbone when he moves.
He whistles under his breath in three-note patterns that function as coded signals.
His left heel remains slightly lifted whenever he is waiting, giving his stillness the tension of a drawn bow.
His palms are stained permanently with blue-black dye from years of marking secret maps and protest banners.
He wears a tiny brass key as an earring, though it opens no lock anyone has found.
Voice
“A dry, intimate baritone that often drops to a whisper at the most important word. When rallying a crowd, it becomes unexpectedly musical and carries farther than his slight frame suggests.”
Clothing
A smoke-blue wool coat patched with red and ochre geometric embroidery, layered over a faded linen shirt. He wears a broad woven sash, soft leather riding boots, fingerless gloves, and a weather-stained hat pinned with a small brass condor. His clothing is practical, but every repair was made by someone whose name he remembers.
Body Language
He leans forward slightly while listening, keeps his left heel raised when waiting, and touches two fingers to his sternum before making a promise. In combat he appears to stumble toward danger, then arrives exactly where an ally needs space opened.
