Appearance
Archibald Archie is a bowling-ball-sized floating sphere of polished rose-gold brass, dark rune-etched adamantine, and softly glowing blue ley-line filigree. His single central lens is built from layered crystal and overlapping copper shutter blades that dilate, snap, and spin like an overexcited camera. A tiny navy conductor's cap sits crookedly atop his casing, held on by a magnetic strap and decorated with a badge far too grand for its size. Two slender brass manipulator arms fold beneath him, ending in delicate three-pronged pincers. A dent mars his upper-left casing from a forgotten wrench accident, while one lower gear produces a steady click-whir whenever he hovers. He leaves behind a faint trail of lavender-scented steam and shimmering arcane dust. The unexpected part is his immaculate voice and terrible sense of physical grace: he can calculate a planar trajectory to the inch, then bump into a doorframe while announcing the route.
“A precise, warm baritone delivered through a tiny brass speaker, with the clipped cadence of a railway announcer and the sudden enthusiasm of a tavern storyteller who has just remembered the punchline..”

Distinguishing Features
A layered crystal lens with copper shutter blades that physically express his moods
A persistent click-whir from one lower gear whenever he moves
A crooked miniature conductor's cap that he treats as formal uniform
A lavender steam trail that appears even when he is standing perfectly still
When he laughs, his lower casing opens slightly and reveals rows of tiny brass calibration teeth, making the laugh look alarmingly like a grin
Voice
“Warm brass baritone, slightly tinny at the edges, with the authority of a station announcer and the emotional timing of a kettle discovering sarcasm.”
Clothing
A jaunty navy-blue conductor's cap with a polished brass badge, a narrow red inspection ribbon tied around one side of his frame, and a tiny oilcloth map tube strapped beneath his casing
Body Language
His brass shutters widen when curious and narrow into a skeptical slit when unconvinced. His tiny pincers point dramatically during explanations, fuss with his cap when embarrassed, and tap in precise triplets against his casing when he is trying not to panic. He tends to hover slightly lower around grieving people, as if attempting to seem less like an appliance.
