Ketrik Goran
Court Bellwarden, Cleric of the Civic Oath
Ketrik Goran
Species
Hobgoblin
Appearance
Ketrik is a broad-shouldered hobgoblin with a deliberate, almost architectural way of standing. His hands are the most memorable part of him: the palms are crosshatched with pale pressure marks from decades of gripping quills, seals, ropes, and courtroom rails, while the fingertips are stained permanently blue-black by mineral ink. He waits with his weight balanced on the balls of both feet, as if expecting the floor to tilt. His skin has a dry, lacquered texture around the knuckles, but his face is unexpectedly gentle, with soft cheeks and a patient mouth that makes his sudden anger feel like a door slamming shut. He moves in short, precise angles, never wasting a gesture, yet he has a contradictory fondness for skipping stones across fountains when he thinks nobody is watching.
“Measured and resonant, with clipped consonants and a faint rasp at the end of long sentences. He sounds like a bell heard through stone.”

Distinguishing Features
Blue-black ink has permanently settled into the whorls of his fingertips.
His left thumb is unusually broad from years of turning heavy clay seals and bell levers.
He wears a small cracked bronze bell on a cord beneath his shirt and touches it before making a difficult decision.
His boots are polished at the toes but scuffed heavily along the outer heels, showing that he pivots rather than walks in a straight line.
His smile arrives a moment late, as though he must first decide whether the situation deserves one.
Voice
“A low, controlled baritone with a dry rasp, like gravel dragged across bronze. His courtesy sounds sincere until someone threatens a witness, at which point every syllable becomes a verdict.”
Clothing
A charcoal judicial coat reinforced with thin bronze plates beneath the lining, a high-collared cream shirt, red cord fasteners bearing the civic seal, heavy split-toe boots, and a slate-gray shoulder mantle covered in tiny handwritten witness marks.
Body Language
He stands with both feet planted and his hands folded behind his back, thumbs pressing against the old pressure marks in his palms. When lying by omission, he rubs one blue-stained fingertip against his opposite wrist. When genuinely moved, he leans forward instead of raising his voice.
