Appearance
Oru Tesh is a narrow, long-limbed person with the stillness of a locked cabinet. Their skin has the muted brown tone of old parchment, while their hands are unusually pale from years spent handling treated paper and sealing wax. They move with small, exact steps, never quite turning their shoulders when they can turn their entire body instead. Their formal coat hangs slightly too large at the elbows and too short at the wrists, as if inherited from someone taller and broader. Every repair is careful except one: the left cuff has been crudely stitched with bright red thread. Oru's clothes smell faintly of cedar, dust, and wintergreen oil. The unexpected contradiction is their smile, which is broad, warm, and almost disarming when they are discussing someone else's ruin. Within a minute of meeting them, most people notice that Oru never seems to blink while reading a person, yet constantly blinks while reading a page.
“Low, dry, and meticulously enunciated. Oru pauses before names, threats, and promises as if checking each word against an internal index.”

Distinguishing Features
A bright red, badly stitched repair on the left cuff of an otherwise immaculate coat.
A habit of holding eye contact perfectly still while asking a question, then looking away only after receiving an answer.
Their left hand is always ink-stained, while the right hand is kept unnaturally clean for handling seals.
They carry a brass page marker shaped like a tiny key, which they tap twice against any document they distrust.
Voice
“Dry contralto with a faint rasp, like paper sliding over stone.”
Clothing
A charcoal archivist's coat with deep inner pockets, a high collar, brass clasps, and sleeves repaired in three different fabrics. Beneath it they wear a cream shirt buttoned to the throat, dark trousers tucked into soft-soled boots, and a narrow red cord around one wrist. Their gloves are immaculate except for ink-darkened fingertips.
Body Language
Oru stands with both hands folded over the top of their ledger rod, head slightly inclined as if listening to a distant clerk. They rarely fidget, but their left thumb rubs the bright red stitching on their cuff whenever they are worried. During negotiations, they angle their body toward the nearest exit without appearing to do so.
