Bror Flint-Eye
Species
Mountain Dwarf
Appearance
Bror Flint-Eye is a compact, heavily muscled mountain dwarf whose movements are economical, grounded, and oddly silent for someone built like a quarry cart. Fine granite powder permanently freckles his copper-brown skin, gathering in the creases around his eyes and beneath his fingernails. His salt-and-pepper beard is braided into five thick cords, each threaded with slate chips labeled in tiny dwarven numerals. His grey eyes are sharp enough to make people feel geologically examined. He has a flattened nose, a crescent scar through his left eyebrow, and one ear notched from a cave-in. His hands are broad, callused, and stained with mineral dust. He leaves the impression of a walking survey marker, stern and immovable. Unexpectedly, his battered beard smells faintly of lavender oil, a habit inherited from his late husband and maintained with embarrassing devotion.
“Low, clipped, and gravelly, with long pauses before technical conclusions. Bror speaks in short declarative sentences and delivers jokes without changing expression.”

Distinguishing Features
Slate chips braided into his beard, each marked with a survey code
A crescent scar through his left eyebrow
A notched left ear from a historic cave-in
Granite dust permanently embedded in the lines of his hands and face
A lavender-scented beard oil that sharply contradicts his grim prospector appearance

Voice
“A dry, resonant baritone like stone dragged across stone, softened only when he speaks to apprentices or discusses his late sister.”
Clothing
A reinforced canvas prospector's jerkin lined with mineral sample pouches, dark wool trousers, mud-caked climbing boots, a weatherproof hood, leather bracers, a brass-rimmed geologist's loupe on a leather cord, and a red scarf faded nearly brown by dust and rain
Body Language
Bror stands with his feet planted wide as if expecting the ground to move. He tilts his head when listening, taps surfaces with one knuckle, and keeps one hand near his geological pick whenever strangers mention ruins. Amusement appears as a single raised eyebrow. Fear makes him completely still.
