Tobin Greenbough
Druid (Circle of the Land - Forest)
Tobin Greenbough
Species
Halfling (Stout)
Appearance
Tobin moves like a small gust of wind through underbrush: quick, light-footed, and producing an impression of things gently disturbed rather than broken. He is usually perched half-sitting on tree roots or leaning on a crooked staff that looks grown rather than carved. His clothes are patched but meticulously mended with moss-dyed thread; bird droppings and sap on his sleeves are cleaned and re-cleaned until they leave pale, intentional flecks. Unexpectedly, his left hand is stained a deep indigo — from years of crushing a particular berry used in his inks — and he uses no gloves, so his fingers bear blue fingerprints at nearly all times. When he walks into a room he smells faintly of crushed pine needles and recent rain.
“Speaks in soft, lilted halfling cadence and uses plant metaphors constantly ("let the thorn tell us its truth"); he inserts small, archaic nature-phrases his mentor taught him and occasionally slips into the lyrical rhythm of childhood rhymes when excited..”

Distinguishing Features
Indigo-stained left hand and thumbprint-shaped mark on his cheek
A thin braided vine threaded through his hair that blooms tiny white buds in spring
A tiny carved wooden hare affixed to his staff — its eyes are polished glass beads
Voice
“Soft, quick, with a dry laugh; voice rises when excited about a discovery and lowers to near-whisper when telling stories of the old oak.”
Clothing
Layered earth-toned tunic and trousers dyed in muted greens and browns, a hooded cloak lined with birch bark shavings for insulation, soft leather knee-boots with flexible soles, a faded sash of woven reeds full of pockets and tied seed-pouches, and a small satchel carved from cured mushroom caps.
Body Language
Open shoulders, habitual leaning toward living things rather than people; when upset he folds his arms and tucks his chin, like a seed closing.
