Species

Appearance

Keshar is a rangy, weather-seasoned human man with the compact strength of someone who has spent decades climbing wet rock and carrying packs through flood country. He moves with a loose, sideways sway, as though the ground is gently shifting beneath him. His black hair is worn in dozens of short, uneven twists bound with seed pods, copper wire, and strips of faded blue cloth. His beard is carefully combed but deliberately left untrimmed at the chin, giving him an oddly scholarly look until he smiles. The most immediate contradiction is his hands: broad, cracked, and stained with ochre, yet his fingernails are polished with meticulous care. He leaves an impression of patience held together by motion, like a river forced to behave as a road.

Height6 feet 1 inch
BuildLean, long-limbed, and wiry, with unusually strong shoulders and a flexible, climbing-trained posture.
EyesDeep amber-brown with tiny green flecks that brighten when he uses Dream Points.
HairBlack threaded with iron-gray, worn in short uneven twists bound with seed pods and copper wire.
SkinSun-browned umber with reddish undertones, weathered across the nose and forearms by years of glare, river spray, and ochre dust.

He speaks Common with a relaxed Australian accent, broad vowels, clipped endings, and a musical rise when asking a question. His voice is warm and conversational even during danger, though his words become unnervingly exact when he is angry.”

Distinguishing Features

Seven colored threads are sewn into nearly every garment he owns, even his boot laces.

His shadow occasionally shows the outline of a serpent several seconds after he has stopped moving.

He carries a polished river stone that is warm even in freezing weather.

His beard is combed with a tiny silver fishbone comb kept behind his left ear.

When he laughs, nearby puddles ripple in concentric rainbow rings.

Voice

A weathered baritone with an easy Australian lilt, carrying the dry warmth of someone telling a story beside a campfire. When he invokes the Rainbow Serpent, a second voice hums beneath his own, distant and liquid, as if speaking from underwater.

Clothing

He wears a patched ochre travel coat over a sleeveless dark green tunic, loose trousers tucked into soft river boots, and a broad sun hat whose brim is stitched with seven mismatched colored threads. His coat is repaired with scraps from old maps, and one inside pocket is absurdly over-cared-for, lined in clean white silk. A polished bone clasp shaped like a coiled serpent holds the coat at his throat.

Body Language

Keshar rarely stands squarely. He keeps one foot turned toward the nearest exit and rocks subtly from heel to toe. When listening, he tilts his head as if hearing distant water. During negotiations, he winds a length of colored cord around his wrist. When preparing magic, his fingers make small looping motions resembling the path of a snake through grass.
