Strata-Vane
Fighter, Rune Knight
Strata-Vane
Species
Tectonic Forged, Star-Sand Calibrated
Appearance
Strata-Vane stands like a section of harbor wall given legs, assembled from dark basalt plates, green-weathered brass fittings, and thick iron joints furred with salt. A watertight glass chest plate reveals a teal Star-Sand core that pulses with the slow rhythm of a lighthouse lens. His broad head has no mouth, only a narrow grille that clicks when he speaks, and his eyes burn as two steady blue-green points beneath a heavy brow ridge. A braided hoist cord is always looped around his left forearm, its fibers polished smooth where thousands of wet hands have gripped it. He moves with astonishing care for something so massive, placing each foot as gently as a diver setting down a glass instrument. The unexpected softness of his movements makes his sudden violence feel like a dock piling rising through a ship's hull.
“His voice emerges as a low, resonant grind filtered through brass slats, with the patient rhythm of a winch pulling against weight. Each sentence begins softly and ends with a firm metallic click.”

Distinguishing Features
A glowing teal Star-Sand core sealed behind a thick, salt-clouded glass chest plate
A braided hoist cord permanently looped around his left forearm, polished smooth by years of use
Brass fittings around his jaw and shoulders weathered green by sea spray
A red wool scarf secured with copper wire, visibly softer and more carefully maintained than the rest of his clothing
His movements are unusually gentle and deliberate for his immense, industrial frame
Voice
“A deep, measured industrial rumble with the faint echo of metal under water”
Clothing
A tar-dark recovery coat hangs from brass shoulder hooks, patched repeatedly at the elbows and hem. He wears a thick canvas tool belt, a salt-stiffened harness, and a red wool scarf tied around his neck despite being immune to cold. The scarf belonged to a dead deckhand and has been mended with copper wire.
Body Language
He keeps his shoulders square and his hands open, palms visible, like a laborer proving he has no intention of starting a fight. His head turns in small precise increments toward every sound. When angered, he becomes almost perfectly still, while the brass fittings at his neck begin to tick.
