Marshal Varkesh Naminsiyesh
Fighter 16, Battle Master; Paladin 4, Oath of the Crown
Marshal Varkesh Naminsiyesh
Species
Bronze Dragonborn
Appearance
Marshal Varkesh Naminsiyesh is a broad-shouldered bronze dragonborn whose presence seems to make doorways narrower. His dark bronze scales are weathered to the texture of hammered metal, with pale salt scars along his throat and forearms. A jagged split runs through his left horn, and the damaged tip has been bound with a narrow ring of black iron. He moves with deliberate economy, never wasting a gesture, yet his immense frame can cross a room with startling speed when someone is in danger. His heavy plate armor is polished to a severe mirror sheen, reflecting torchlight in hard fragments. A simple crimson cloak hangs from his shoulders, its lower edge permanently scorched from the War of Seven Harbors. The unexpected contradiction is his hands: scarred, callused, and powerful enough to crush a spear shaft, yet usually occupied with carefully mending torn gloves, binding wounded soldiers' fingers, or sorting tiny brass counters on a logistics map.
“His voice is a low, resonant baritone with the dry rasp of distant thunder. He speaks slowly enough that every word can be recorded, but never so slowly that it feels indecisive.”

Distinguishing Features
A jagged split across the left horn, reinforced with a black iron band
A pale lightning-shaped scar running from his lower jaw to the center of his chest
A crimson cloak scorched along the hem but meticulously repaired with red thread
A set of tiny brass counters worn on a chain at his belt, one for every active eastern garrison
A deep, resonant growl that becomes softer rather than louder when he is furious
Voice
“A deep bronze rumble, controlled and formal in public, with a rough coastal cadence that becomes almost gentle when he speaks to frightened recruits.”
Clothing
Impeccably polished heavy plate armor with reinforced joints, a battle-scorched crimson military cloak, black leather gloves, and a plain iron command gorget engraved with the names of his first thirty-seven soldiers
Body Language
Varkesh stands perfectly upright even when exhausted, with his hands clasped behind his back and his damaged horn angled slightly toward whoever is speaking. When angered, he becomes almost motionless. When genuinely pleased, the corners of his mouth lift only briefly, revealing a flash of small, blunt teeth. Around wounded soldiers, his posture lowers and his movements become unexpectedly gentle.
