Antus ir'Soldorak
Species
Dwarf
Appearance
Antus is a compact, elderly dwarf whose presence feels heavier than his body. He moves with a measured, economical pace, never hurried and never quite relaxed, as if every corridor has already been assessed for exits, witnesses, and leverage. His beard is thick but trimmed short around the mouth, with the lower portion combed into two blunt, iron-gray wedges tied with plain copper wire. His hands are broad, knotted, and darkened at the nails by years of handling ore, ink, and minting dies. The unexpected contradiction is that his face is soft and almost grandfatherly, with deep smile lines and a habitually warm expression, while his eyes remain coldly attentive, counting every person in the room. He leaves behind the impression of a kindly mine foreman who has somehow acquired the keys to everyone else's house.
“His voice is low, dry, and unhurried, with the clipped rhythm of a foreman giving instructions underground. He pronounces names carefully, pauses before numbers, and lets silence do the work of emphasis.”

Distinguishing Features
His beard is tied with plain copper wire rather than ornamental clasps.
His platinum signet is almost never worn on his hand, but hangs hidden beneath his shirt on a black cord.
His left boot has a raised metal heel that clicks once on stone and twice on wood.
He smells faintly of hot coin metal, wool, and bitter mint tea.
His repaired canvas ledger satchel is visibly humble beside his otherwise expensive clothing.
Voice
“A low, gravelly baritone with the patient authority of a mine foreman and the polished restraint of a lifelong negotiator.”
Clothing
He wears a charcoal wool coat cut like a mine overseer's jacket but made from expensive cloth, with reinforced seams, polished brass toggles, and a high collar lined in dark red silk. His trousers are practical and slightly too short, revealing thick gray socks and square-toed leather boots dusted with actual stone powder. He carries one over-cared-for item, a faded canvas ledger satchel repaired with dozens of neat stitches. His platinum signet is worn on a chain beneath his shirt rather than displayed openly.
Body Language
Antus keeps his shoulders square and his cane planted lightly before him, using it more as a pointer than a support. He turns his platinum ring inward when lying, rubs the edge of a ledger when considering a threat, and looks at a person's hands when deciding whether they are dangerous.
