Gisela
Gisela
At the table
Voice
A low, resonant voice shaped by a larger chest and unfamiliar vocal weight. Its local Saxon sounds are strongest on names and common phrases. When explaining evidence, he clips the ends of sentences as if marking points on a diagram; when startled, his words come out louder than he intends.
He speaks with a local Saxon accent in plain, practical phrasing. His technical habits show in how he separates observation from inference and asks for exact measurements. He rarely embellishes a claim unless he is trying to make a frightened listener understand why a detail matters.
Speech patterns
How to play them
Gisela is most approachable when asked to examine a concrete problem. Share evidence and he will share his notes; acknowledge uncertainty and he will treat you as a serious collaborator. He responds poorly to being treated as a curiosity or to assumptions about his past body. If someone is frightened, he may initially offer an action plan, but a direct request for company or comfort can reach him.
Goal
Learn why he awakened in Saxony with a Firedrake bloodline, and find a way to protect the Glass-Scalded Seven without becoming a weapon for the dragon behind that inheritance.
Motivation
To make the strange world legible enough that the Seven can survive it, while discovering who he is in a body and life he never expected.
Appearance
A handsome young Saxon man whose presence seems to arrive a pace before he does: tall, broad through the shoulders, and still learning how much room his body occupies. His warm skin has a faint, healthy sheen, like someone who has just come in from a brisk walk. He moves with careful, measured steps until he forgets himself, then turns or lifts with startling force. His hands are blunt-fingered and roughened by practical work, with small calluses along the thumb pads from handling tools and writing implements. He keeps them conspicuously still when thinking, as if trying not to break whatever he touches. People notice his looks; he notices that they notice, and often tries to redirect their attention to the evidence on the table.
Clothing
A serviceable dark wool tunic, rough linen shirt, sturdy hose, and a weathered cloak pinned high to keep it clear of work. His belt carries a wax tablet, charcoal, string, and a small knife. He favors layers he can mend over anything that attracts notice.
Body language
He stands squarely and often forgets that he blocks a narrow passage. When listening, he tips his head toward the speaker and fixes his eyes on their hands or whatever they are describing. His fingers make small measuring motions in the air. He catches himself gripping cups, tools, and shoulders too firmly, then loosens his hold with visible concentration. Near fire, his posture stills and his gaze becomes difficult to draw away.

Distinguishing features
Personality
16 traits and drivesMeasured and inquisitive, Gisela wants every claim to survive scrutiny, yet he secretly enjoys being the person who notices what others missed. Anger and sexual desire arrive with unfamiliar physical intensity, which leaves him wary of his own impulses rather than ashamed of his identity.

Combat
AC 11 · HP 7 · 30 ft.Gisela avoids a fair fight. He takes cover, warns allies about observed threats, and uses his staff to keep enemies away from more vulnerable companions. He uses Cinder Breath only when cornered or when it can decisively disrupt an attacker, then retreats rather than pressing an advantage. His fixation on nearby fire can distract him, and his uncertain control of strength makes grappling risky.

Background
Before waking near the Harz Mountains, Gisela lived as a woman and worked in a technical profession where careful measurement and repeatable evidence mattered more than confident guesses. The transition left him with memories of another body and a new one that is hale, taller, stronger, and hungry with an insistence he still finds startling. His first days in Saxony were spent trying to make sense of the landscape without the familiar instruments he once relied on. The lack of dependable tools frustrates him more reliably than danger does. He was taken in by the Glass-Scalded Seven, a scattered survival compact of displaced outsiders, and became their Keeper of observations: recording routes, unusual phenomena, supplies, and the habits of threats. A formative moment came when a frightened child was trapped near a burning cart. Gisela's attention fixed on the flames so completely that he nearly missed the child's call; he dragged the child free only after another member of the Seven struck his shoulder and broke the fixation. He now treats fire as both a clue and a hazard, and has begun keeping a written list of what his new body can do. He is trying to understand the origin of his Firedrake bloodline, tied to a greedy, ever-burning pitch-black dragon, while the Seven debate whether that inheritance makes him a danger or a resource.
Role in the story
A useful witness, investigator, and uneasy guide to the Seven's hidden network. Gisela can connect clues and identify practical hazards, while his heritage and fire fixation create a growing mystery that may draw the party toward the dragon behind his bloodline.
