Kiyomi Sedgewell
Wizard, School of Abjuration
Kiyomi Sedgewell
Species
Elf
Appearance
Kiyomi looks delicate until she moves. Her long limbs and narrow shoulders give her the silhouette of a reed bending above deep water, but every gesture is controlled, economical, and difficult to interrupt. Her skin has the muted warmth of old ivory, marked by faint blue veins that glow when she casts. Her hair is black at the roots and fades into soft pewter at the ends, usually hanging in a heavy braid threaded with tiny glass bells. Her eyes are moss green with amber rings around the pupils. A crescent scar cuts through her left eyebrow, an injury she received while saving the person who later betrayed her. She smells faintly of rain on stone and burnt cinnamon. The unexpected thing about her is her hands: broad-palmed, calloused, and permanently stained with ink, more like a mason's than a scholar's. She leaves an impression of quiet gentleness until someone notices that she never turns her back on a door.
“Soft, measured, and gently clipped. She speaks like someone reading a weather report to a frightened child, even when describing catastrophic danger.”

Distinguishing Features
A crescent scar through the left eyebrow
Three glass bells woven into her braid that ring only when someone nearby is lying to themselves
Ink-stained palms and fingernails
A cracked bronze ring that she rubs before making dangerous decisions
Her shadow occasionally points toward the nearest source of unresolved magic
Voice
“A low, clear contralto with a rounded cadence. Her voice is soothing without being sweet, like water flowing through a stone channel. When she casts, the final word of each incantation sounds faintly doubled, as though another speaker is repeating it from far away.”
Clothing
A layered indigo traveling robe beneath a sleeveless rain mantle sewn with waxed silver thread. Her cuffs are reinforced with pale leather, her boots are practical and mud-stained, and a wide sash holds glass spell beads, chalk, folded maps, and three small kitchen knives. She wears no jewelry except a cracked bronze ring belonging to her dead mentor.
Body Language
She stands with her weight slightly forward, as if listening to distant rain. Her fingers count invisible beats against her thumb whenever she is calculating. In anger, she stops moving completely. In grief, she straightens other people's belongings without noticing.
