High Prelate Valerissa Sarkesh
Cleric 15, Order Domain / Paladin 5, Oath of the Crown
High Prelate Valerissa Sarkesh
Species
Silver Dragonborn
Appearance
High Prelate Valerissa Sarkesh is a tall silver dragonborn whose pale scales shine like hammered nickel beneath shrine lamps. She stands with such immaculate uprightness that courtiers unconsciously straighten when she enters. Her movements are slow, economical, and nearly silent, yet never hesitant. The scales along her jaw overlap in fine, fanlike ridges, giving her face the severe geometry of a carved reliquary. Her teeth are small, square, and startlingly numerous, visible whenever she speaks with warmth or laughs at a private joke. She smells faintly of hot stone, cedar ash, saffron oil, and the bitter mineral smoke used in the Palace Shrine. The unexpected contradiction is that her intimidating height and judicial stillness are paired with delicate, almost birdlike motions when she handles letters, cups, or frightened children.
“Her voice is low, clear, and soothing, with the resonant cadence of a temple bell heard through stone. In judgment, every syllable becomes precise and frost-cold.”

Distinguishing Features
The overlapping silver scales of her jaw resemble a fan of tiny metal plates.
Her square, crowded teeth show clearly when she smiles, creating an unexpectedly warm and almost mischievous expression.
Her Ashen Covenant staff is visibly charred, with one surviving knot of blackened wood shaped like a clenched fist.
She carries the scent of cedar ash, saffron oil, hot stone, and mineral smoke.
A thin line of gold ink circles each claw, renewed before every oath ceremony.
Voice
“A calm contralto with a faint metallic resonance, like warm wind moving through a bronze instrument.”
Clothing
Flowing vestments of deep crimson and sun-bleached linen, edged with heavy gold embroidery depicting interlocking rings and closed eyes. Beneath them she wears reinforced scale armor, white gloves for treaty work, and a wide sash bearing the seal of the Palace Shrine.
Body Language
Valerissa keeps her shoulders square and her staff planted exactly once before speaking. When listening, she lowers her head slightly but never breaks eye contact. Her tail remains motionless during testimony, then makes one sharp sweep when she detects a lie. In private, she folds and refolds the corner of a document while thinking.
