Darya Vezdina
Species
Sentient porcelain construct, custom lineage
Appearance
Darya presents as a woman sculpted by an artist who understood anatomy only through rumor. Her porcelain face is broad and softly rounded, with enormous glassy eyes, a tiny painted mouth, and cheeks that seem permanently prepared for a kiss or a scream. Her body has a ludicrous hourglass silhouette, with a corset forcing her waist into an almost impossible narrowness between exaggerated shoulders and hips. The effect is uncanny rather than erotic, like a fashionable doll enlarged to human scale and taught to breathe. Her movements are graceful in stillness but subtly wrong in motion: she glides, stops without momentum, and turns her head a fraction too far before the rest of her follows. The unexpected contradiction is that her hands are small, work-worn, and scarred with fine cuts from years of repairing other people's toys and prosthetics. She leaves observers with the impression that they have just seen someone beautiful, fragile, and dangerously assembled.
“Her voice is soft, rounded, and intimate, with a faint Slavic cadence and occasional Greek-like vowel shapes. It sounds almost human until she becomes emotional, when a delicate second tone clicks beneath every syllable.”

Distinguishing Features
A faint seam circles her throat and disappears beneath her ribbon.
Her left eye contains a tiny painted blue iris inside a much larger glass lens.
Her smile is painted on, but the paint has been repeatedly retouched by different hands.
A brass wind-up key protrudes between her shoulder blades.
When badly damaged, she leaks rose-scented preserving fluid instead of blood.
Her shadow sometimes moves half a second after she does.
Voice
“Velvet-soft and carefully articulated, like a lullaby played through a music box. When furious, the voice becomes perfectly flat while the hidden clicking in her chest grows louder.”
Clothing
A deep teal dress of layered silk clings tightly beneath a black lacquered corset reinforced with silver stays. The dress has a high collar, theatrical sleeves, a deliberately revealing neckline, and a skirt split for movement. Tiny brass hooks, red thread repairs, and hidden pockets break up the expensive appearance. She wears cream gloves, pearl-button shoes, and a narrow ribbon around her throat containing a miniature wind-up key.
Body Language
Darya stands with her hands folded over her corset as if steadying a fragile instrument. She tilts her head during conversation, smiles a heartbeat too late, and uses elegant turns of the wrist to conceal sudden mechanical adjustments. When frightened, she becomes perfectly motionless except for the tiny rotation of her eyes.
