Meyu Oqara is a softly built chromavaft woman whose presence seems to arrive a moment before her body does. Her skin has a warm pearl base crossed by faint rose, jade, and copper bands that brighten or dim with her emotions. She moves with careful, gliding precision, but her hands are astonishingly quick when she is arranging cups, cards, or pieces on the High Lantern's game tables. Her face is broad cheeked and gentle, with a small cleft in her chin and a permanent pale mark beneath her left eye shaped like a teardrop. The unexpected contradiction is that her expression is almost maternally kind while her gaze remains unnervingly still, as if she is listening to thoughts buried several rooms away. In candlelight, her silhouette appears slightly doubled, one outline lagging behind the other by the width of a finger.
