Species

Appearance
A lean, poised woman who seems to occupy less space than she actually does. She moves with a gliding economy, placing each foot as though the floor might remember the pressure. Her left eye is covered by a pronounced milky-white film, the permanent result of a corrosive gas pocket explosion in the basalt galleries. Her right eye is dark hazel and unnervingly still. Her narrow face is framed by black hair cut in uneven layers, with several strands permanently silvered by chemical exposure. Her teeth are unusually square and bright, and when she laughs, which is rare, she bares them in a sudden wolfish flash that makes her seem more dangerous rather than warmer. The contradictory impression she leaves is of fragility wrapped around absolute control. She looks like a figure who might be blown away by a strong draft, yet people unconsciously lower their voices when she enters a room.
“Soft, melodic, and unusually flowing, with pauses placed according to acoustics rather than grammar. She often lowers her voice when delivering important information, as though secrecy is a physical direction.”

Distinguishing Features
A milky-white film covers her left eye, a permanent souvenir of a corrosive gas pocket explosion.
Her speech has an unusually melodic, liquid cadence that makes ordinary directions sound ceremonial.
She has square, brilliantly white front teeth and a sudden wolfish grin.
She wears a ring of nine tiny brass bells, all permanently muted with wax.
She turns her head toward sounds before anyone else in the room notices them.
Voice
“A low, silken contralto with a musical rise and fall. Even her hurried speech seems composed, while her rare laughter arrives as a bright, startling click of teeth.”
Clothing
A form-fitting, multi-layered aerodynamic flight suit made from treated acid-resistant leather and silk. Its overlapping panels are stitched in charcoal, rust-red, and dull copper thread, with flexible ceramic scales sewn beneath the ribs and along the forearms. A high collar protects her throat, while narrow vents at the hips and shoulders let her read air currents. Her boots have soft split soles and replaceable resin pads for silent movement on basalt.
Body Language
She keeps her left shoulder slightly forward, presenting the damaged eye away from strangers. Her head tilts by tiny degrees while listening, and her fingers tap silent rhythms against her thumb when anxious. Under pressure, her posture becomes unnaturally still. When angry, she smiles with all her square front teeth and stops blinking.
