Cinder-of-Nine
Intelligent Ember Elemental
Cinder-of-Nine
Species
Ember elemental
Appearance
Cinder-of-Nine is a small, hovering humanoid silhouette made from layered embers, blackened glass, and slow-turning tongues of orange flame. Their body appears loosely assembled, with ribs like bent iron grates and a heart-sized coal burning behind the sternum. Ash constantly drifts upward from them instead of falling, gathering briefly into tiny birds before vanishing. Their movements are quick and mothlike when excited, but eerily still when listening. The unexpected contradiction is that their flames give off a comforting scent of cinnamon bread and rain rather than smoke or sulfur. Looking at Cinder-of-Nine feels like remembering a home that may never have existed.
“Their voice sounds like a small fire speaking from inside a stone chimney, warm and rhythmic with occasional pops of sparks. They become nearly whisper-quiet when discussing the dead and boom like a forge bell when making a promise.”
