Appearance
Rovagug manifests as an impossible adult body shaped like a colossal, worm-like predator forced into a roughly humanoid posture. The torso is a swollen, armored sac of charcoal hide and wet, pearl-gray chitin, tapering into a many-segmented lower body that coils instead of standing. Dozens of arms emerge in uneven rings from the ribcage, each ending in a different anatomy of claw, hook, lamprey hand, or blunt digging limb. Eyes bead across the body in clusters, blinking sideways and opening from beneath translucent skin. A vertical mouth splits the head from crown to sternum, while smaller mouths open and close along the forearms as if tasting the air. The unexpected detail is his stillness: despite innumerable limbs, he often holds perfectly motionless for several heartbeats, like a statue that has forgotten gravity. When he moves, the change is abrupt and tidal, with the upper body gliding forward before the coiling lower body catches up. He smells of hot stone after rain, old blood, and crushed cloves, a scent he seems genuinely unaware of.
“His voice begins as a low subterranean vibration and resolves into several overlapping voices, some close enough to feel against the skin and others seemingly speaking from beneath the ground. He pronounces names carefully, as though deciding whether they are worth remembering.”

Distinguishing Features
An uneven crown of sensory tendrils constantly tasting the air
A vertical mouth that opens from the top of the head to the center of the chest
Dozens of limbs that move independently, sometimes contradicting one another
A smell of wet stone, old blood, and crushed cloves
A habit of becoming completely motionless before sudden movement
Tiny mouths embedded in several forearms that whisper fragments of extinct languages
Voice
“A layered subterranean rumble, like a chorus trapped beneath tectonic plates, occasionally interrupted by a wet clicking laugh”
Clothing
No true clothing. His body is draped in shredded ceremonial banners, rusted chains, broken prayer wheels, and fragments of stone doors taken from temples he has destroyed. Several pieces are stitched into his hide by living black tendrils.
Body Language
Rovagug folds and unfolds his limbs in slow waves. He leans toward speakers without appearing to listen, and his lower coils tighten whenever he is curious. When enraged, he becomes unnervingly still before moving with explosive speed.
