Appearance
A young human man with a narrow, composed face and sharp hazel eyes that seem to count exits, witnesses, and loose papers at the same time. His grooming is immaculate without being vain. His dark brown hair is parted with ruler-straight precision, yet one stubborn lock curls over his left temple whenever he is frightened. His right-hand fingers are permanently stained blue-black with archive ink, while his left hand is unusually clean because he uses it to handle original documents. He moves with a calm, economical shuffle that suddenly becomes startlingly quick when a paper is about to fall. His presence suggests a harmless junior clerk, but his stillness has the uncomfortable quality of a locked door. The contradictory detail is that he wears a tiny silver bell on his belt, though he dislikes noise and never allows it to ring.
“Quiet, clear, and carefully paced. Kian sounds like he is reading minutes aloud even when whispering in a dark corridor.”

Distinguishing Features
Ink permanently darkens the fingers of his right hand but never stains his left
A single rebellious curl falls over his left temple whenever he is anxious
A felt-wrapped silver bell hangs silently from his belt
His eyes flick briefly toward every written surface in a room
He has a small white scar across the bridge of his nose from a falling archive shelf
Voice
“A soft young tenor with a dry, almost administrative cadence. When he recites a fact he knows is dangerous, the warmth leaves his voice and each word lands like a stamped seal.”
Clothing
A clean gray-brown scribe's tunic with narrow green stitching at the cuffs and a hidden interior lining designed to carry rolled parchment duplicates. He wears soft-soled black shoes, a narrow leather belt, fingerless archive gloves, and a weatherproof leather satchel overflowing with spare quills, sealing wax, folded blotting cloth, and labeled string. The tiny silver bell on his belt is wrapped in felt so it cannot ring.
Body Language
Kian keeps his shoulders relaxed and his hands folded over his satchel clasp. He turns his body slightly toward exits, shields documents with his elbow, and tilts his head as if listening for a distant page being turned. Under stress, he smooths the right cuff of his tunic three times, then stops himself with visible effort.
