Cornelian
Rogue, custom Vampire Duelist

Human, Vampire
Appearance
Cornelian is a tall, unnervingly elegant man with pale skin that has the faint translucence of candle wax. He moves with the economical stillness of a practiced duelist, never wasting a step, yet his coat seems to arrive a heartbeat after he does, as though his shadow is reluctant to follow. His dark hair is kept shoulder length and combed behind his ears, with a single silver strand that has never multiplied despite the centuries. He wears a narrow goatee trimmed to a precise point. His hands are the most memorable part of him: long-fingered, immaculate at first glance, but hardened at the pads and ridged along the knuckles from centuries of sword drills, violin strings, and coffin nails. The contradiction is striking: he looks fragile enough to fracture in a strong wind, but carries himself with the quiet weight of a sealed tomb.
“His voice is low, breathy, and impeccably articulated, with soft sibilants that make ordinary sentences sound like confidential threats. He speaks slowly when negotiating and very quickly when reciting old legal phrases.”

Distinguishing Features
A tarnished silver thimble hangs from a chain beneath his shirt, worn smooth at the rim where his thumb rubs it during moments of stress.
His left cuff is visibly glossy and flattened from centuries of brushing against the same rapier guard.
His fingernails are short and polished, but the skin of his palms is crosshatched with old calluses from sword grips and coffin-making tools.
His reflection sometimes turns its head a fraction later than he does.
He smells faintly of rain on stone, black tea, and old iron.
Voice
“A soft male baritone with breathy consonants, careful sibilants, and the faint rasp of someone speaking through old dust. Even his compliments sound like terms in a contract.”
Clothing
A grey duelist's coat of heavy wool-silk, cut close to the body and worn shiny at the left cuff from repeated contact with his rapier guard. Beneath it he wears a black high-collared shirt, a charcoal waistcoat, fitted trousers, soft black boots, and a faded wine-red sash hidden beneath the coat. His gloves are thin grey leather, each fingertip darkened by old sword oil.
Body Language
Cornelian stands with his weight slightly forward, as if perpetually beginning a lunge. He keeps one hand near his rapier but never grips it unless violence is already inevitable. When amused, he lowers his chin rather than smiling. When lying, he becomes perfectly motionless except for a slow rotation of the signet ring on his right index finger.
