Gatik Corvissi
Species
Rock Gnome
Appearance
Gatik Corvissi is a compact, broad-shouldered gnome with the dense, polished look of a man carved from dark walnut. His receding widow's peak leaves a sharp triangular island of iron-gray hair above his brow, while the rest of his hair is combed straight back and tied with red thread. His round spectacles magnify pale amber eyes that rarely blink at the same time. A cigar usually hangs from the left corner of his mouth, its smoke curling around him like a second, more patient disguise. He walks with a measured heel-to-toe precision, never hurried, never quite silent. His hands are stained with ink, lampblack, and metallic green residuum dust. The unexpected contradiction is his smile: warm, paternal, and almost boyish, even when he is ordering someone's ruin.
“His speech is polished, economical, and faintly musical, with clipped consonants and occasional Andean-flavored proverbs translated into Common. He never raises his voice unless someone else is in danger.”

Distinguishing Features
Round spectacles with one lens faintly tinted green from repeated exposure to residuum.
A sharply receding widow's peak and a narrow scar crossing the left eyebrow.
A cigar that is never fully smoked and is replaced before it burns down.
Green metallic dust permanently embedded in the creases of his fingertips.
A brass signet ring that opens to reveal a tiny compartment containing a scrap of his brother's final ledger.
His smile remains disarmingly gentle during moments of extreme danger.
Voice
“Low and dry, with a soft rasp from years of cigar smoke. His words arrive with careful pauses, as if each sentence has already been edited for legal and emotional liability.”
Clothing
He wears a charcoal three-piece suit cut from expensive Pride silk, a burgundy waistcoat embroidered with tiny brass mountain patterns, and a long slate coat lined with hidden pockets. His gloves are soft gray leather, each fingertip reinforced for lock work. A heavy signet ring bears the Corvissi mark, a split key over a closed eye.
Body Language
He keeps his elbows close, his shoulders relaxed, and his hands visible. He taps the ash from his cigar in exact intervals when calculating. In moments of genuine affection, he adjusts another person's collar or spectacles without asking. When threatened, he becomes almost motionless, with only the tiny movement of his thumb against his signet ring revealing the strain.
