Lethariel Vaun
Species
Wood Elf
Appearance
Lethariel is a long-limbed wood elf with the quiet, balanced movement of someone who learned to walk on branches before she learned to walk on roads. Her skin has a warm copper-brown tone, textured with faint pale lines like old birch bark around her knuckles and temples. Her dark auburn hair is braided with green thread, tiny brass trade tokens, and dried seed pods that click softly when she turns her head. Her eyes are moss-green near the pupils and amber at the edges, giving the unsettling impression that she is always watching both a person and the landscape behind them. She smiles readily, but her smile never reaches the left side of her face. Her hands are callused, stained with berry ink, and unexpectedly gentle when handling fragile goods. She leaves an impression of woodland grace compromised by practical exhaustion, like a beautiful shrine that has been converted into a working warehouse.
“Her voice is low, clear, and lightly musical, with the measured cadence of someone accustomed to speaking over wagon wheels and forest rain. She uses vivid trade and woodland metaphors, but becomes startlingly direct when discussing death, debt, or betrayal.”

Distinguishing Features
A narrow white scar crosses the left side of her mouth and prevents that side of her smile from moving normally.
Her left little finger is missing its tip, replaced by a carved greenwood thimble that she uses as a measuring guide.
The seed pods in her hair are from the last living tree of the Vaun Canopy.
She smells faintly of cedar smoke, crushed mint, and rain-soaked rope.
Her shadow sometimes appears to have antler-like branches when she stands near living trees.
Voice
“Low, clear, and lightly musical, with a soft rasp on certain consonants. Her laughter is brief and surprised, as if it escaped before she could inspect it.”
Clothing
A sleeveless forest-green coat made from waxed canvas and soft mosscloth, reinforced with narrow strips of boiled leather. Copper clasps shaped like leaves hold it closed. Beneath it she wears a cream linen shirt, dark travel trousers, split-soled boots, and a wide belt carrying pouches, keys, measuring cords, and folded trade maps. The coat's inner lining is stitched with hundreds of tiny green threads, each representing a favor owed or paid.
Body Language
She stands with one shoulder near a door or window, never fully turning her back to a room. While listening, she sorts objects by size or texture. When lying, she becomes unusually still, with only the seed pods in her hair continuing to move.
