Sereba Quispe

Sereba Quispe
Species

Appearance
Sereba is a slight young woman with a solemn, watchful face and a habit of standing with one heel lifted, as if she is always prepared to step aside for someone more important. Her wavy brown hair escapes in soft coils around her temples despite being pinned beneath her veil. She moves quietly, but not gracefully. Her movements have the careful precision of someone constantly measuring how much space she is allowed to occupy. The first thing most people notice is the contradiction between her meek posture and her unnervingly direct gaze. She looks easy to overlook until she fixes her attention on someone, at which point her silence feels like an accusation.
“Soft, careful, and grammatically precise. Sereba often pauses before names and important verbs, as though testing whether she has earned the right to say them.”

Distinguishing Features
She stands with one heel lifted whenever she is waiting.
Her left glove is always spotless, even when the rest of her clothing is damp or dusty.
A faint crescent of blue dye stains the nails of her right hand from her childhood in the dye shop.
She has an unusually direct gaze that appears only after several seconds of silence.
Her robe is repaired with dark blue thread in careful, visible rows.
Voice
“A low contralto with a dry, almost musical cadence. She sounds apologetic when making threats and authoritative when discussing bread, medicine, or proper record keeping.”
Clothing
A high-collared black priestess robe made from heavy wool, too broad at the shoulders and repeatedly taken in along the waist. The cuffs have been repaired with dark blue thread that catches the light. She wears a soft gray veil, a plain iron holy symbol beneath her collar, and one immaculate white glove on her left hand, a keepsake from her deceased brother. Her boots are practical, mud-stained, and polished only at the toes.
Body Language
When waiting, Sereba places most of her weight on her left foot and keeps her right heel slightly raised. She folds her hands over her abdomen, but her thumbs move constantly against one another. When challenged, she lowers her chin instead of raising it, creating the impression that she is yielding until her eyes reveal that she has already reached a conclusion.
