Mikavela Sovanuri
Wizard
Mikavela Sovanuri
Species
Firbolg
Appearance
A very tall young firbolg woman with a broad, gentle silhouette that ought to make her intimidating, yet her soft posture and perpetually apologetic smile make her seem more like a traveling librarian than a wilderness giant. Her movements are careful and quietly economical, with her left shoulder always slightly lowered from the weight of her satchel. Her pale blue-gray skin has a velvety texture like river stones warmed by sun, while her thick hair falls in dark brown ropes threaded with naturally white strands. She smells faintly of cedar, lamp oil, and crushed mint. The unexpected contradiction is her hands: enormous, blunt-fingered, and visibly strong, but always occupied with delicate work such as repairing spectacles, turning pages, or arranging tiny pressed flowers.
“Her voice is low, clear, and surprisingly gentle for her size, with a faint musical cadence influenced by formal clan recitation. She speaks slowly when choosing her words, but rushes through explanations once excited.”

Distinguishing Features
A white forelock falls over her left temple and is always held in place by a tiny wooden comb carved like a beetle.
Her fingernails are stained blue from repeated contact with alchemical ink.
She walks with a soft, rolling step that makes her seem to sway like a tree in wind.
Her satchel contains dozens of labeled leaves, each gathered from a place where something impossible happened.
When she casts a spell, faint lines resembling handwritten marginalia briefly appear across her skin.
Voice
“A deep contralto with a soft rasp at the edges, like wind passing through dry reeds. She sounds patient even when irritated, and her rare sharp words land with more force because she normally speaks so carefully.”
Clothing
A charcoal traveling coat patched with moss-green wool, a cream linen blouse, wide brown trousers, waterproof leather boots, and a deep blue scarf embroidered with tiny silver constellations. Her coat is lined with sewn-in pockets containing chalk, dried herbs, folded maps, and index cards. A brass clasp shaped like an open eye holds her spellbook case shut.
Body Language
She leans slightly left beneath her satchel, folds herself inward when entering crowded rooms, and keeps one thumb hooked around the strap of her spellbook case. When concentrating, she taps two fingers against her wrist as if counting an invisible pulse. When angry, she becomes perfectly still except for the slow turning of a page.
