Cal'rhyn Rainslo
Bard (Grinner)
Cal'rhyn Rainslo
Species
Tabaxi
Appearance
Cal'rhyn is a rangy, long-limbed tabaxi with the sleek, weather-resistant coat of a marsh cat, marked in smoky umber, pale cream, and narrow bands of silver around his throat. His movements in public are extravagant, full of sweeping paws, theatrical turns, and a tail that seems to conduct invisible musicians. In private, he becomes almost unnervingly still, with only the slow flexing of his claws betraying thought. One ear is torn nearly in half, yet he wears a delicate pearl earring through the damaged edge. His smile is dazzling and practiced, but his eyes are tired, watchful, and unexpectedly gentle. He leaves behind the impression of a brilliant performer who has learned to treat every room as both stage and crime scene.
“His public voice is rich, breathy, and musical, with hissing consonants stretched into theatrical flourishes. His private voice is lower and nearly flat, each word placed with careful precision.”

Distinguishing Features
A torn left ear threaded with a pearl earring.
A thin white scar crosses the bridge of his nose and disappears into his whiskers.
His tail tip is naturally white, but he dyes it blue before performances.
His claws are stained with permanent indigo from years of copying testimony.
He carries himself like a boastful prince until someone mentions the dead, at which point he stops moving entirely.
Voice
“A velvet rasp with a breathy purr underneath, capable of filling a hall without sounding strained. In private, it softens into a confidential murmur that makes listeners lean closer.”
Clothing
A wine-red velvet coat sewn with dozens of tiny brass bells, each muffled with wax except one at the left cuff. Beneath it he wears a cream poet's shirt, charcoal trousers, soft climbing boots, and a sash containing folded witness statements. His armor is concealed beneath embroidered stage padding.
Body Language
In public he sprawls, bows, twirls, and uses his tail like a second stage curtain. In private he sits upright with his paws folded over his cane, ears angled toward every sound. When lying, he becomes more motionless, not more animated.
