Bera
Cleric, Hearth Below Domain
Bera
Species
Mountain dwarf
Appearance
Bera is a broad-shouldered mountain dwarf woman with an enormous bust, a compact waist, and the sturdy, weight-bearing posture of someone accustomed to carrying children, water, and wounded travelers at once. Her body is powerful rather than delicate, but she moves with unexpectedly quiet precision, placing each foot as if crossing thin ice. Her copper-brown skin has a warm, weather-polished sheen, and tiny pale freckles cluster across her nose and shoulders like grains of salt. Thick dark hair is braided into four heavy ropes, each threaded with dull brass rings that click softly when she turns. Her most noticeable contradiction is the gentleness of her hands: large, callused, and capable of swinging a staff through armor, yet always moving with a nurse's careful patience. She leaves the impression of a hearth that has learned how to walk.
“Low, warm, and deliberate, with a mountain dwarf cadence. She speaks softly enough that people lean toward her, then becomes startlingly loud when giving an order during danger.”

Distinguishing Features
Four thick braids threaded with brass rings that click when she moves
A blue salt prayer-stone worn smooth where her left thumb constantly rubs it
A faint scent of juniper smoke and hot iron clinging to her clothes
An enormous, powerful chest that makes her armor and clothing unusually custom-fitted
A habit of tilting her head toward distant sounds before anyone else notices them
Voice
“A low contralto with a smoky warmth, capable of becoming thunderous when she calls people to safety”
Clothing
A dark russet wool dress reinforced with leather panels, a soot-black apron, layered bronze prayer discs, thick traveling stockings, and a heavy green cloak clasped with a chipped piece of blue salt. Her clothes are carefully mended but never fashionable.
Body Language
She plants her staff slightly behind her right heel and leans into it only when tired. In conversation, she angles her large frame sideways to avoid crowding others, but squares her shoulders instantly when someone threatens a weaker person. When listening, she watches the speaker's hands rather than their face.
