Marshal Tharkor Sarkesh
Species
Copper Dragonborn
Appearance
Marshal Tharkor Sarkesh is a broad-shouldered copper dragonborn whose earth-toned scales range from weathered penny brown to muted green along the joints. His scales are dry and faintly granular, like fired clay left too long in a kiln. He stands with the immovable patience of a gatehouse pillar, yet moves with startling economy, each turn and step already measured as though he were navigating a battlefield map. His amber eyes are bright, narrow, and relentlessly attentive. A pair of short swept-back horns have been polished smooth by years of rubbing them while thinking. The unexpected softness of his appearance is a thin fringe of pale copper down the back of his neck, which trembles like grass in a breeze whenever he is angry. He leaves people with the impression that they have been inspected, weighed, and assigned a place in a defensive formation before he has spoken.
“A low, gravelly baritone that carries across stone thresholds without becoming loud. His pauses are deliberate, his consonants hard, and his sentences tend to end with a quiet downward certainty.”

Distinguishing Features
Amber eyes that remain fixed and unblinking during moments when most people would look away.
Four large rune plates set into his armor, each worn smooth at the edges by constant touching.
A cartographer's knife with seven notches, one for each road he has personally closed after a massacre.
A low throat-clearing rumble that precedes every answer, even when he is calm.
His tail makes small, precise adjustments to his balance whenever he is calculating a person's distance from the nearest exit.
Voice
“Dry stone dragged over iron, steady and resonant, with a faint rasp from years of breathing desert dust.”
Clothing
Utilitarian plate armor forged from dark iron and terracotta alloys, its surfaces scored by sand, hammer blows, and deliberate repairs. The armor bears no decorative filigree, only gate numbers, unit marks, and four inset rune plates. Beneath it he wears a sleeveless charcoal gambeson, dust-red bracers, and a broad utility belt holding maps, seals, chalk, cord, and wedges.
Body Language
Tharkor occupies space like a barricade without seeming to threaten it. He plants his feet squarely, keeps his shoulders level, and turns his entire torso toward whoever is speaking. Before answering, he takes one slow breath through his nose and taps the heel of his warhammer once against the ground. His left hand often leaves his side to pull out a notched cartographer's knife, which he uses to scratch corrections directly onto leather maps while maintaining eye contact.
