Appearance
Kötük is a narrow-shouldered young woman with an alert, almost birdlike posture and the restless hands of someone forever measuring invisible angles. She moves quickly when confident, but stops with abrupt precision whenever she reaches a difficult calculation. Her skin is warm brown with a faint dusting of copper freckles across her nose and collarbones. Her dark hair is braided into four practical cords, each bound with a different colored thread for identifying study subjects. The unexpected detail is her left hand, which is soft and carefully manicured, while her right palm is permanently roughened by chalk, brass filings, and aether burn. Before speaking, she takes a quiet breath through her nose and holds it for a heartbeat. When frightened, that controlled pause vanishes, and her words come out in rapid little bursts separated by sharp inhales.
“Her speech is precise and slightly breathless, with a habit of placing technical terms where ordinary people would use simpler words. She speaks quietly when calm, as though conserving sound for concentration.”

Distinguishing Features
Her basic Aether-Matrix Gauntlet is visibly entry-level, with scratches, loose calibration screws, and a single exposed matrix ring.
She has a soft clicking habit, tapping her tongue against her teeth in repeating patterns while thinking.
Her left sleeve is always pinned higher than the right to keep the gauntlet unobstructed.
A faint blue glow sometimes leaks between her fingernails after prolonged practice.
Her breathing is almost silent when calm, but becomes audibly segmented into three short inhales when she is afraid.
Voice
“A low, clear contralto with a faint rasp from years of workshop dust. Her voice is easy to miss in a crowded room until she becomes excited, when it turns bright and quick. Before speaking, she usually gives a soft nasal inhale followed by one tiny click of the tongue. When genuinely frightened, she loses that click and begins swallowing between words.”
Clothing
A fitted academy robe of deep blue wool, reinforced at the elbows and split at the sides for movement, worn over a cream linen shirt. A weathered leather belt carries chalk tubes, brass calipers, a folding ruler, and three wax-sealed notebooks. A plain satchel hangs at her right hip. Strapped securely to her left forearm is a basic Aether-Matrix Gauntlet made of unpolished steel and yellowed brass, with one exposed matrix ring in the wrist plate, tiny calibration knobs along the edges, and thin blue aether-threads glowing beneath the metal.
Body Language
Kötük keeps her left forearm slightly raised to protect the gauntlet and often angles her body toward the nearest light source. Her shoulders are tense during conversation but loosen when discussing mechanisms. When rattled, she presses her tongue against the back of her teeth, inhales too sharply, and begins tracing invisible diagrams with her thumb.
