Appearance
A tall, narrow-shouldered man with the stillness of someone who has learned to conserve every unnecessary motion. His body looks assembled rather than healed, with skin pulled taut over the knuckles and faint seam-like lines visible at his wrists, ankles, and beneath his jaw. His hands are the first thing people notice: broad-palmed, permanently gray at the fingertips, and callused in strange circular patches from years of ropework, bow maintenance, and grave digging. He constantly checks the leather cord around his left wrist, counting its knots without seeming aware of it. His movements are quiet and economical, but when startled he turns his whole body at once, as if his neck has forgotten how to lead a motion. The contradiction is unsettling: he appears corpse-cold and funerary, yet he smiles readily at frightened children and handles injured animals with extraordinary gentleness.
“Low, measured, and courteous, with a faint Slavic cadence softened by years of speaking the valley's common tongue. His sentences become clipped during combat and strangely formal when discussing the church.”

Distinguishing Features
His fingertips are permanently gray and faintly rough, as if dusted with ash, though no substance can be wiped away.
The skin at his wrists bears shallow, symmetrical rope impressions that appear darker whenever church bells ring.
He wears a knotted funeral cord around his left wrist and unconsciously checks its knots.
He never breathes, but sometimes imitates breathing when speaking to living people so they will not become uncomfortable.
A small bronze fragment is embedded beneath the skin of his palm, warm only when the mists are near.
Voice
“A dry baritone with a faint rasp, as though every word has passed over old rope. He can speak without breathing, but deliberately pauses between phrases to imitate the rhythm of a living man's breath.”
Clothing
A weather-darkened ranger's coat stitched from wool, waxed canvas, and strips of old funeral shroud. He wears a high collar to conceal the seam-like marks beneath his jaw, iron-soled boots wrapped in gray cloth to silence his steps, and a belt crowded with bone-handled tools. A faded church stole has been cut into narrow strips and sewn inside his coat as hidden lining.
Body Language
He keeps his left wrist close to his ribs and touches its knotted cord whenever someone mentions faith, execution, or home. He stands with his weight slightly forward, as though expecting the ground to vanish. When angry, he becomes almost perfectly motionless except for his thumb rubbing the oldest knot.
