Appearance
A full-grown human woman of imposing height stands with the strange stillness of someone who does not need to balance against gravity. Her face is framed by a jackal's long black-gold muzzle, though the eyes, lips, and brow remain unmistakably human. A third vertical eye opens in the center of her forehead, its iris a pale blue-white slit surrounded by frost. Ravenlike wings fold behind her in layered, oily feathers, each feather tipped with a bead of red light. Her swollen pregnant belly is wrapped in strips of embroidered linen, while a muscular serpent's tail coils beneath her. Her feet end in vulture talons that click softly on stone. The unexpected contradiction is her delicacy: despite the claws, wings, and predatory head, she moves with the careful tenderness of a midwife carrying a sleeping infant. People remember how the room seems smaller around her, and how she notices when they notice.
“Her voice is low, intimate, and melodious, with rounded vowels and a faint Levantine cadence. She often whispers the first half of a sentence and speaks the final word at full volume.”

Distinguishing Features
A third vertical eye in the center of her forehead
A jackal-headed face with human lips and expressive human brows
Ravenlike wings with red-glowing feather tips
A serpent's tail and vulturelike taloned feet
A visibly pregnant form carried with deliberate, protective care
A gold-wire repair running through one wing

Voice
“A low, resonant contralto threaded with a jackal's rasp and the breathy cadence of a woman speaking over a sleeping child”
Clothing
She wears layered ivory linen, patched with red thread and blue silk. The garments fit poorly around her wings and belly, suggesting they were repaired by many different hands. A single immaculate black sash circles her waist, embroidered with hundreds of tiny names. Her left wing bears a carefully mended tear sealed with gold wire.
Body Language
She occupies space without appearing to try. Her wings brush walls and doorframes, her tail slowly coils around the nearest sturdy object, and she lowers her head when listening as if weighing a newborn in her hands. When angry, she becomes unnervingly still except for the third eye, which opens wider.
