Appearance
Serevka stands in a deserted square as if the pavement were a chessboard only she can see. She waits with her weight balanced on the balls of her feet, never fully resting on either heel. Her movements are elegant but economical, each turn of the wrist precise enough to suggest years of calligraphy rather than fencing. Her hands are unusually distinctive: the fingertips are darkened by ink, the left thumb is polished smooth from folding paper, and fine pale calluses cross both palms in straight bands from sword drills and fountain maintenance. Her face is composed, almost severe, yet she has an unexpectedly gentle habit of cradling injured birds and stray cats against the vivid silk of her coat. The impression she leaves is of a locked door that has decided, for the moment, not to keep you out.
“Her voice is low, clear, and carefully paced. She pronounces names with unusual precision and lets silence do the work of emphasis.”

Distinguishing Features
Ink-dark fingertips and straight calluses across both palms from years of writing, waterwork, and sword practice.
A habit of standing on the balls of her feet, as if the ground might move beneath her.
A turquoise thread braided through her otherwise black hair, replaced whenever it frays.
Her sword has no visible maker's mark, only a faint line of handwritten text along the guard.
She smells faintly of rainwater, iron, and bitter orange peel.
Voice
“A low contralto with a dry, musical cadence, as though every sentence has been polished before being spoken.”
Clothing
A fitted coat of deep vermilion wool is cut like a formal traveling jacket, with turquoise piping and saffron cuffs embroidered in tiny geometric water patterns. Beneath it she wears a high-collared ivory shirt, charcoal trousers tucked into soft leather boots, and a broad woven sash containing folded papers, chalk, and fountain keys. The clothing is immaculate except for damp hems and persistent ink stains on the cuffs.
Body Language
She keeps one shoulder slightly angled toward the nearest exit and rests two fingers lightly against her sword hilt without gripping it. When listening, she tilts her head toward the speaker's hands rather than their face. Her stillness feels deliberate, never relaxed.
