Appearance
Strata-Pillar 05 is assembled from stacked, chiseled basalt slabs whose edges have been polished smooth by years of handling cargo. Copper bands cinch their shoulders, waist, and knees, each one stamped with a faded tally mark from Ash-Terrace Junction's weighing yards. Behind a heavy chest grate, a warm golden Star-Sand core pulses like a banked hearth, throwing amber light across nearby stone. Their face is a broad, quiet mask with a narrow horizontal mouth and two deep eye recesses that shine pale brass. They do not look at faces first. They inspect wheels, load ropes, rooflines, exits, and the angle of a person's feet. Their movements are slow enough to seem ceremonial, yet each step lands with exact, startling precision. The unexpected detail is their hands, huge stone fingers kept meticulously clean and wrapped at the joints in soft blue thread, as if they were a delicate artisan rather than a market enforcer.
“Low, quiet, and carefully measured, with a faint harmonic vibration beneath each word. Their voice sounds like a smooth stone drawn across a bronze bowl.”

Distinguishing Features
A golden Star-Sand core visible through a heavy chest grate.
Copper bands covered in old cargo tally marks.
Exceptionally clean stone hands wrapped with blue thread.
Never looks first at a person's face, always at their footing and the nearest load-bearing structure.
Their footsteps make a faint, rhythmic chime as small copper plates inside their legs settle.
Voice
“A deep, gentle contralto with the resonance of an empty kiln, quiet enough that listeners lean closer and steady enough to stop an argument.”
Clothing
A sleeveless charcoal work-coat hangs from copper shoulder rings, its hem reinforced with leather strips and iron studs. They wear a blue market sash bearing the seal of Ash-Terrace Junction, a broad tool belt, and a faded hood used against ashfall. A tiny red thread is tied around the left wrist joint, despite the absence of flesh beneath it.
Body Language
They stand with their feet angled toward the nearest slope or exit, shoulders squared but never aggressive. When listening, they lower their head until their chest-core illuminates the speaker's hands. Before making a difficult decision, they press one thumb against the central copper band and let the Star-Sand pulse three times.
