Hessa Woldin

Hessa Woldin
Species
Goblin
Appearance
Hessa is a compact goblin woman with long arms, a broad little ribcage, and the restless balance of someone who expects the floor to betray her. Her moss-green skin has a fine, pebbled texture that catches dust along the knuckles and elbows. Her large amber eyes rarely settle on faces. They track hands, doorways, belts, windows, and the nearest person who looks most likely to panic. She moves with quick, economical steps, then goes perfectly still without warning, like a bird listening beneath snow. Her most unexpected feature is her immaculate posture. Even while crouching behind a barrel, she holds her chin high and keeps her shoulders square like a seasoned courtier. She leaves people with the impression that they have been inspected, measured, and quietly assigned a place in the room.
“Her voice is low, brisk, and surprisingly musical, with clipped consonants and a soft rolling rhythm. She speaks Common carefully, as if every word has been weighed for hidden hooks.”

Distinguishing Features
A tiny brass royal badge is sewn inside her collar rather than displayed openly, because she distrusts anyone who recognizes authority too quickly.
Her ears twitch independently when she hears a lie or a concealed movement.
She keeps a strip of red lantern paper tucked into her left glove, the only surviving piece of the banner from the Lantern Riot.
She stands unusually straight for a goblin, as if perpetually awaiting inspection.
Voice
“Low, brisk, and musical, with the controlled politeness of a servant who has learned to sound like a judge.”
Clothing
A fitted royal guard coat sewn from dark blue wool, reinforced with mismatched metal scales, a red sash tied twice around her waist, soft black wrappings around her calves, and a polished brass badge worn far too proudly for its size.
Body Language
She keeps her feet angled toward the nearest exit while standing with her chest lifted and hands folded behind her back. When angry, she becomes unnervingly motionless. When pleased, only the tips of her ears move.
