Appearance
Kettan is a lean, long-limbed human whose stillness feels more trained than natural. He moves with the contained precision of someone always crossing a palace floor where spilled wine could mean execution. His hands are the first thing most people notice: broad-palmed, heavily callused at the base of each thumb, and permanently darkened around the nails by gun oil and charcoal. His coat hangs neatly from his shoulders, yet the left sleeve is always rolled higher than the right so he can reach his pistol without looking. He has a narrow face, a blunt jaw, and a calm mouth that often seems one breath away from laughter. The unexpected contradiction is that his intimidating weapons and soldier's posture are paired with an almost domestic gentleness. He handles frightened children, injured animals, and delicate porcelain with the same reverence he gives loaded firearms. In a crowded room, his eyes rarely watch the person speaking. They travel to windows, hands, door hinges, ceiling beams, and the empty space behind him.
“Kettan speaks in a low, measured voice and rarely wastes a word. His Mavakan accent rounds some vowels while giving his hard consonants a clipped, deliberate edge.”

Distinguishing Features
His hands are heavily callused and permanently stained with gun oil around the nails.
He wears his faded royal sash inside out, showing only its plain gray backing.
He tilts his head toward exits whenever someone raises their voice.
His two pistols have mismatched grips made from black horn and pale riverwood.
He smiles warmly at servants and street children but becomes unreadable around courtiers.
Voice
“A quiet baritone with a dry warmth, like a wooden door closing firmly in a windstorm. He can make a polite sentence sound like a command without raising his volume.”
Clothing
A dark indigo riding coat reinforced with hidden leather panels, a high-collared cream shirt, fitted brown trousers, soft-soled boots, and a faded royal sash worn inside out. Brass cartridge loops cross his ribs beneath the coat. His gloves are fingerless at the thumbs and forefingers, but he removes them whenever speaking a promise.
Body Language
Kettan stands with his weight slightly forward, as if already moving toward danger. He keeps his hands open when speaking with civilians but folds his thumbs over his belt when addressing nobles. When angry, he becomes unnaturally polite and begins tapping the heel of his right boot in a steady rhythm. He rarely points. Instead, he tilts his chin toward whatever he wants noticed.
