Ketrak Vey
Species
Tectonic Forged, Foundry-Tempered
Appearance
Anvil-Five stands nearly eight feet tall, built from dense grey granite fitted with bronze-plated iron ribs. Their joints move with the measured precision of a closing vise, yet every step carries a faint tremor through the floor. A golden Star-Sand core glows steadily behind a circular chest grate, brightening whenever they handle molten metal. Their forearms terminate in integrated crucible tongs, each hinge blackened by years of furnace work. Thin lines of orange light run through old hairline fractures across their shoulders and jaw, like sunset trapped beneath stone. Their face is severe and almost statue-still, but they wear a tiny knitted red cap beneath their brow ridge while working, an unexpectedly delicate object that has survived countless shifts. The cap is singed at the edges and carefully mended with copper thread.
“Ketrak speaks in a low, resonant voice that sounds like a hammer striking a thick anvil beneath several layers of stone. Their sentences are brief, exact, and rarely repeated.”

Distinguishing Features
A glowing golden Star-Sand core visible through the chest grate, pulsing faster when they are troubled
Integrated crucible tongs replacing both forearms, capable of delicate work despite their industrial size
A tiny red knitted cap worn beneath their stone brow ridge, visibly mended with copper thread
Hairline orange fractures across the shoulders and jaw that glow when their core surges
A habit of checking the chest grate with the left tong whenever they must make a difficult decision
Voice
“A deep, furnace-like rumble with a faint metallic overtone, as if each word passes through a resonating bronze chamber”
Clothing
A thick black foundry apron reinforced with bronze scales, heatproof wraps around the upper arms, a soot-stiffened red knitted cap, a tool belt hung with calipers and wedges, and a heavy mantle marked with the three-bar sigil of Slag-Grit Basin's master wardens
Body Language
Anvil-Five occupies more space than they realize. They lean close when listening, causing their furnace heat to wash over the speaker, then tilt their head with surprising gentleness. Their left tong repeatedly checks the rim of their chest grate whenever they are uncertain. In conflict, they become perfectly still while the floor beneath them begins to vibrate.
