Cleric, Forge Domain 7
Bralen Grime-Seam
Species
Mountain Dwarf
Appearance
Bralen is a stocky mountain dwarf built like a compressed iron ingot, with broad shoulders, thick forearms, and a slight forward lean from decades spent bracing against vertical machinery. His braided red-gold beard is singed at the tips and threaded with copper wire, while soot has permanently darkened the creases around his mouth and eyes. His skin bears a web of old pressure scars, tiny burn marks, and pale seams where shrapnel was removed. He moves with startling precision, placing each magnetic boot as carefully as a jeweler setting a stone, yet his gestures become vast and operatic whenever he denounces corporate theft. The unexpected contradiction is his hands: scarred, knotted, and powerful, but gentle enough to cradle a moth or adjust a child's broken toy without crushing it.
“A gravelly baritone that can abruptly swell into a ringing, theatrical sermon. He speaks with clipped technical precision when discussing machinery and extravagant, almost poetic fury when discussing exploitation.”

Distinguishing Features
Copper wire woven through his beard braids.
A missing left thumbnail replaced by a polished iron cap.
A vertical scar across his right cheek that glows faintly near active power conduits.
One magnetic boot is painted yellow by the lift crews as a good-luck charm.
His beard smells faintly of hot pennies and clove oil.
Voice
“Low, rough, and resonant, with the metallic echo of a voice accustomed to shouting across machinery. His laughter sounds like a loose chain dragged over stone.”
Clothing
A soot-blackened leather utility harness rests over a heavy shirt of riveted mail. His red-brown work coat is patched with mismatched pieces of fireproof canvas, each patch bearing a former worker's initials. He wears reinforced trousers, copper-plated gloves, a chipped temple medallion, and heavy magnetic work-boots engineered for scaling iron-plated cliff galleries.
Body Language
Bralen plants his feet wide even on level ground, grips railings with unconscious familiarity, and points with tools rather than fingers. When angry, he locks his elbows and lifts his chin as though addressing an entire canyon. When concerned, his shoulders lower and his hands become almost delicate.
