Captain Tor Rael
Fighter 14, Battle Master / Paladin 3, Oath of Devotion with a Broken Oath variant
Captain Tor Rael
Species
Bronze Dragonborn
Appearance
A towering bronze dragonborn man with weathered copper scales, each plate dulled by salt, smoke, and years of abrasive sand. His body is powerfully built but not graceful, with the dense, compact strength of someone trained to hold a breach rather than chase an enemy. Old scars ladder his throat, cross his muzzle, and vanish beneath his coat. He moves with a rigid, mechanical posture, placing each foot as though advancing across a battlefield marked by invisible caltrops. His expression is stern enough to make strangers lower their voices. Unexpectedly, his enormous hands are remarkably gentle, and he handles delicate relic fragments with the care of a jeweler.
“A low, gravelly baritone that carries over rushing water, chain winches, and shouted orders. Tor speaks slowly enough to make every sentence sound deliberate.”

Distinguishing Features
A jagged scar runs from the left horn down across the eye ridge, leaving one eye slightly narrowed
His right horn is capped with a crude brass sleeve stamped with an old military serial number
The shield bears a Naminsiyesh command crest that has been deliberately chiseled into an unrecognizable shape
His scales carry permanent pale salt blooms around the shoulders and jaw
He walks with a faint metallic click caused by a hidden brace inside his left boot
Voice
“Deep, weathered, and controlled, with a faint rasp caused by old smoke damage. His Draconic becomes harsh and resonant during commands, while his rare jokes are delivered so flatly that listeners often miss them.”
Clothing
A dark salt-crusted leather coat reinforced with overlapping metal scales, a stark unpolished steel gorget, reinforced trousers tucked into waterproof military boots, and a faded red command sash worn beneath his armor where almost no one can see it
Body Language
Tor stands squarely even in rocking rooms, one hand often resting on the top rim of his shield. His head turns before his eyes do, as if tracking threats by sound. When angry, his tail becomes perfectly still. When frightened, which is rare, he begins counting under his breath and checks the nearest wall for structural weakness.
