Appearance
Tavrik Emeraldheart is a broad-shouldered, dark-skinned human with vivid copper-red hair cropped close at the sides and left slightly longer on top. His beard is short, carefully squared, and beginning to silver beneath the chin. His emerald-green eyes are bright and watchful, with the unsettling habit of fixing on a person's hands before their face. He moves like a man trained to cross a carriage deck during a sudden turn, knees loose, weight low, and one hand never far from a railing, table, or companion. His red-and-gold clothes are finely made but visibly lived in: the right cuff of his crimson coat is polished nearly smooth from twelve years of gripping reins and weapon hilts, while the gold embroidery has been repeatedly repaired with thread of three slightly different shades. The unexpected detail is his softness around the mouth. At rest, he looks almost kind enough to be harmless, until a frightened person speaks and his breathing becomes quiet, shallow, and utterly controlled.
