Elske Dravik
Species
Dogkin
Appearance
Elske is a broad-shouldered dogkin woman with the compact strength of someone who has hauled laundry baskets up narrow stairs for half her life. Her tawny fur is short along her arms and face but thickens into a dark ruff beneath her jaw and down her spine. Her hands are unusually memorable: the pads of her fingers are dark, polished, and cracked from lye, hot water, and cheap rose soap, while her nails are kept brutally short except for one careful crescent on each thumb. Her muzzle is square, and when she smiles, her lower canines show slightly over her lip, giving her warmth an edge of honest warning. She moves with a maid's quiet efficiency, always turning sideways through a room and never letting a tray, chair, or sleeping guest interrupt her path. Her unexpected contradiction is that she smells faintly of clean linen and clove smoke, yet her laugh is loud, barking, and entirely incapable of being mistaken for refinement.
“Her voice is low, husky, and conversational, with a rough river-district accent softened by years of serving wealthy guests. She speaks quickly when organizing others and slowly when delivering a warning.”

Distinguishing Features
Her lower canine teeth show whenever she smiles, giving her friendliness a sharp outline.
Her hands are visibly weathered by lye, hot water, and years of scrubbing, with dark polished paw pads and short blunt nails.
One ear folds forward at the tip when she is concentrating, despite being perfectly healthy.
She wears a red silk ribbon around her left wrist and refuses to explain its origin.
Her laugh begins as a low rumble and ends in a sudden, startling bark.
Voice
“Low, husky, and warm, with a practical river-district cadence that can turn from welcoming to dangerous without becoming louder.”
Clothing
A charcoal maid's dress reinforced at the elbows, a russet waistcoat with hidden inner pockets, thick gray stockings, soft-soled boots, and a cream apron embroidered with tiny blue knots. She wears a brass key ring at her belt and a red silk ribbon around one wrist, kept from a client who died protecting the boarding house.
Body Language
She keeps her shoulders relaxed and her chin slightly lowered, as if listening to a child explain a mistake. Her ears angle toward every sound, and her tail makes slow, deliberate movements that reveal more than her face does. When angry, she becomes perfectly still except for one thumb rubbing the edge of her apron.
