Sennka Pryd
Druid
Sennka Pryd
Species
Tortal
Appearance
A broad-shelled tortal woman with a low, deliberate gait and the patient balance of someone accustomed to wet ground. Her shell is ridged like old riverstone, green-brown at the edges and pale as lichen across the crown, with tiny sprigs of thyme growing from cracks she has carefully filled with dark soil. Her eyes rarely settle on a speaker's face. They travel instead to hands, boots, doorways, nearby plants, and anything that might conceal a threat. She wears a constant expression of mild disapproval, yet her hands are astonishingly gentle. The contradictory impression is immediate, she looks built to endure a siege, but handles every seed as though it were a sleeping bird.
“Low, measured, and slightly rasping, with long pauses before personal statements. When angry, her words become more polite, never less.”

Distinguishing Features
A living braid of thyme and marsh mint grows from the soil packed into shallow shell ridges along her back.
Her gaze constantly maps exits, hands, and nearby vegetation rather than meeting faces.
She carries a brass kettle that whistles faintly whenever it is near poisonous fumes.
The seed-pod cord around her shell is retied every morning in a different knot pattern.
Voice
“Like a kettle beginning to sing, soft at first, then impossible to ignore.”
Clothing
A weather-darkened linen vest beneath a patched waxed cloak, a belt of stoppered clay herb jars, reed sandals, and a red wool scarf inherited from her dead mentor. Her shell is fitted with a leather harness carrying pruning shears, bundles of moss, and a brass kettle.
Body Language
Her head tilts in small precise increments while listening. One hand frequently touches the lower rim of her shell, checking a cord of seed pods tied there. When angered, she stops moving entirely except for the slow flexing of her broad, clawed feet.
