Appearance
Veska Noll is a narrow-shouldered woman with restless energy packed into every movement. She has warm brown skin dusted with faint silver stage powder that never seems to wash completely away, thick black hair cut into an uneven jaw-length bob, and amber eyes that shine with delighted danger. Her hands are always moving, conducting an invisible orchestra, tapping rhythms against her ribs, or shaping a punchline before it leaves her mouth. She smells faintly of clove smoke, rain-damp wool, and the bitter citrus oil she uses to soothe her throat. Her speaking voice is bright, intimate, and perfectly controlled, but when she is frightened her breath catches between words and her next sentence comes out in a startlingly deep, almost masculine register. The contradiction is disarming: her flamboyant stage presence suggests a peacock, yet in a quiet room she folds herself small and listens like a hunted animal.
“Her speech is musical without being singsong, full of abrupt pauses, internal rhymes, and sudden changes in volume. She can make a brutal accusation sound like a punchline.”

Her laugh arrives half a second before the joke is finished, as if she has already heard the audience's reaction.
A silver throat charm clicks softly against her teeth when she sings.
She smells of clove smoke, rain-damp wool, and bitter citrus oil.
Her breathing is nearly inaudible while performing, but becomes sharply audible through her nose when she is frightened.
Her silver-flecked stage powder remains on her skin for days and makes her look faintly star-dusted under lamplight.
Voice
“Bright, smoky, and intimate, with a practiced singer's control. She can project over a riot without shouting, then whisper a name that makes the person beside her feel personally accused.”
Clothing
A wine-red tailcoat patched with black velvet, high-waisted charcoal trousers, soft heeled boots, and a cream shirt fastened with mismatched brass buttons. Her cuffs are embroidered with tiny stars that form a cipher when folded in the correct order. She wears a battered silver throat charm and keeps a black half-mask tucked into her belt, although she rarely uses it.
Body Language
Veska leans toward people as if sharing a secret, even when addressing a crowd. She rocks subtly from heel to toe, conducts her own breathing with two fingers against her wrist, and tilts her head whenever someone lies. When rattled, her shoulders become perfectly still while her fingers continue tapping an intricate rhythm against her thigh.
