Vesta
Cleric, Life Domain, level 6
Vesta
Species
Gearforged
Appearance
Vesta is a tall, gracefully proportioned Gearforged whose polished brass framing shows fine hairline scratches beneath a careful wax sheen, while her dark iron plating carries the soft matte scuffing of constant work. Her chipped blue enamel faceplate is cracked across one corner like a piece of old kitchen crockery, but her optical sensors glow with a warm amber hue that makes even frightened strangers feel seen. Her hands are broad and precise, built for lifting crates, tightening bolts, and splinting broken fingers. She moves with an unexpectedly gentle rhythm for a machine, each step measured like a quiet waltz, yet when danger enters the chapel her posture locks into terrifying stillness. She smells faintly of yeast, hot metal, cedar smoke, and machine oil. The contradictory impression she leaves is that of a war engine trying very hard to resemble a kindly aunt, and succeeding until someone threatens the helpless.
“Soft, resonant, and carefully paced, with a low harmonic vibration that resembles a distant chapel bell. She pronounces every name clearly.”

Distinguishing Features
Chipped blue enamel faceplate with a hairline crack across the left optical sensor
Amber optical glow that brightens when she is healing or angry
A small brass spoon permanently riveted to one wrist as a memorial token
A floury handprint on her dark iron breastplate that she refuses to clean away
A quiet clicking rhythm in her left knee that resembles a metronome at three-quarter time
Voice
“A warm contralto filtered through resonant brass, with a gentle bell-like overtone and a faint rhythmic click beneath every sentence.”
Clothing
A sturdy flour-dusted canvas apron hangs over her articulated chassis, reinforced with leather edging and deep pockets full of inventory ledgers, copper ration tokens, emergency signal whistles, chalk, needles, and folded evacuation maps. A faded blue prayer sash is tied around one shoulder, and small brass spoons are sewn into the apron hem as quiet memorials for refugees who never reached safety.
Body Language
At ease, Vesta keeps one hand resting lightly on the nearest table or doorframe, as if grounding herself in the chapel. She tilts her chipped faceplate toward speakers and lowers her shoulders when comforting someone. When enraged, every loose mechanism in her body stops moving except her fingers, which slowly close around her mace or a ration ledger.
