Malakrom
Species
Human
Appearance
Malakrom is a lean, sharp-featured human whose presence feels slightly misaligned with the room around him. His skin has the dry, warm tone of fired clay, and faint soot-dark freckles cluster around his knuckles and the tips of his ears. He moves with a careful, almost courtly economy until magic is involved, at which point his gestures become sudden and angular, like a conductor trying to stop an orchestra from exploding. A thin veil of copper dust clings permanently to his eyelashes. He smells faintly of rain on hot stone and singed paper. The contradictory impression he leaves is that of a fragile scholar who somehow occupies space like a siege engine.
“Measured, technically precise, and lightly sardonic. His sentences often arrive in carefully separated phrases, with a soft intake of breath before anything personal.”

Distinguishing Features
A copper dust shimmer clings to his eyelashes and sometimes glitters when he casts.
His left wrist is wrapped in a bracelet of cloudy glass beads, each one containing a trapped spark.
He pauses for one full heartbeat before speaking to strangers, as though checking the heat of their mood.
His fingertips are permanently stained orange-brown from mineral powders used in spell preparation.
His shadow occasionally flickers half a second after he moves.
Voice
“A low, dry voice with a faint rasp, as if every sentence has passed through warm ash. He speaks softly enough that listeners lean closer, then delivers alarming conclusions with calm precision.”
Clothing
A soot-gray long coat lined with red-orange silk, layered over a high-collared linen shirt and a fitted leather vest stitched with heatproof thread. His sleeves are secured by ceramic clasps, and his boots have thin copper soles that click softly on stone. He wears a glass bead bracelet and a belt case full of powdered minerals.
Body Language
Malakrom constantly checks a small glass bead at his wrist with his thumb. When calculating a spell, he tilts his head as if listening to distant rain. He rarely points with a finger, preferring to indicate things with two knuckles held together. When someone mentions Efan Mori, his shoulders become perfectly still.
